It’s March and that means it’s time for the annual Mardi Gras celebrations here in Sydney. Thanks to my friend Omar, who’s new apartment overlooks Anzac Pde, we were able to watch the whole parade go past throughout the night – even my friend Kate was part of it!
Dykes on Bikes, Sex In The City, Bears In Leather, Divas, Drag Queens, Twinkies, Tributes to Harvey Milk – you name it, it was there, strutting around, covered in glitter and feathers.
I had a really awesome night, it’s fantastic that the people in Sydney can celebrate their acceptance in such a wonderfully colourful and theatrical way.
